Ages 4 and up
 
(Note: An Adults only class will be available in the Summer) 
 
(For the Holidays we also have "Carols at the Spinet" where you will learn the piano with your favorite Christmas Carols)  
 
Students will learn to play the piano in a group setting using familiar songs such as "Twinkle Little Star" and "Aura Lee."  Technology is combined with a carefully crafted teaching method to create an effective and fun learning environment.  Students age 6 or less must be willing to practice enough to keep up with the class.  Keyboards are provided for in-class use.   Keyboard rentals are available ffor at home-practice during the duration the class session (Rental = $20 for the 8 week session -- contact us before the start of class to make rental arrangements). A $5 book fee is due the first day of class (it can also be paid online: click here).

-- 3D Computer Animation Classes (all)

 

NEW: There are now several varieties of 3D Animation Classes including Planes, Trains, and Robots.  These beginner classes focus primarily on 3D computer modeling and animation using the free software Anim8or.  The original class "Animation & Video Game Design) adds a little touch of beginning game design using the software, Gamemaker. In Anim8or, students will learn how to use and manipulate three dimensional shapes to create objects, backgrounds and characters; how to create movable figures that can walk, run, fly, swim, etc.; and how to put their creations together to make a video. In Gamemaker, students will learn how to use their anim8or creations to make characters and backgrounds for a video game.  A $5 book fee is due the first day of class.  Note:  Students must be able to at least read words like "save" "file" etc... A $5 book fee is due the first day of class (it can also be paid online: click here).

This beginner's class teaches students how to play piano and organ using classic church hymns including “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee,” “Holy, Holy, Holy,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” and many others.

Adventures In Ukulele

Ukulele Paradise: (for ages 7 and up) The Ukulele has become a well known instrument that immediately makes people think of Hawaii. It is easier to learn than the guitar making it a perfect first instrument to introduce you to the world of music.  The students will learn the basics of playing the ukulele with both melody and simple chords while learning well known songs such as "Mary had a Little Lamb," and "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." Ukulele rentals are available for $20 for the eight weeks of the class. Please contact us to make rental arrangements prior to the first day of class.  A $5 book fee is due the first day of class (it can also be paid online: click here).

Adventures in Guitar

 

Ages 7 and up

 Possibly one of the most popular instruments in existence, the guitar is a versatile and fun instrument to learn how to play.  Because guitars come in a variety of sizes, students can find an instrument that is the right size for them.  The students will learn the basics of playing the guitar with both melody and simple chords while learning well known songs like "Twinkle Little Star" and "Mary Had a Little Lamb." Guitar rentals are available for $20 for the whole 8 weeks.  Students wishing to rent a guitar for class should contact Auberg Instructional Innovations prior to the first day of class to make arrangements.  There is a $5 book fee due the first day of class (it can also be paid online: click here).

More with Music (Part 2 for Piano, Guitar, Ukulele)

Ages 4 and up

A continuation class for those who have taken any of the part 1 piano, guitar, or ukulele classes.  Each student will receive a mini private lesson and will practice what they have been taught while the teacher is working with other students. Keyboards are provided for in-class use (Guitars and Ukulele are not).  Keyboard rentals (for at-home practice), Ukulele Rentals, and Guitar Rentals are available during the duration of the class session.  (Rental = $20 for the 8 week session -- contact us before the start of class to make rental arrangements).  A $5 book fee is due the first day of class (it can also be paid online: click here).

3D Animation Part 2

 

This is a continuation class for students who have taken the Computer Animation and Game Design class.  Students will learn some of the more advanced features in anim8or to make animations and videos. A $5 book fee is due the first day of class (it can also be paid online: click here).

Music Keyboarding Fun for Seniors and Adults

   

Ages 13 and up

An exciting and fun class where students learn to play music quickly using the EZ Play Today Method (from Hal Leonard Publishing).  Students play the melody of a song in the right hand and control an automatic accompaniment with the left.  Keyboards are provided for in-class use.  Keyboard rentals for at-home practice are available during the duration of the class session ($20).  Please contact the instructor at [email protected] to make rental arrangements.  A $5 book fee is due the first day of class (it can also be paid online: click here)

-- Making Music for the Holidays (Craft)

 

In this workshop, make your own musically themed ornaments to decorate your tree or home. Create 3-D ornaments out of paper with pictures of musical instruments being played by snowmen as well as build and decorate miniature flute ornaments. There is a $5 supply fee to cover the cost of materials.

-- Carols at the Spinet (Piano)

    Get ready for the holidays and learn how to play the piano with your favorite Christmas Carols! "Jingle Bells," "Hark the Herald Angles Sing," "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and many more! This class focuses on learning to play Christmas Carols on the piano and is not as in depth at piano technique (note reading, etc.) as the Piano Adventures Class. Keyboards are provided for in-class use, keyboard rentals for at-home practice are available during the duration of the class session ($20). Making Toys Move (Animating Building Blocks)

 

SUMMER ONLY CLASS (look for it summer of 2017!)  Learn Stop-Motion Animation techniques while having fun with Lego* bricks.  While 3D Computer animation dominates today's cartoons, there is still something special and fun in the old art of Stop-Motion Animation.  Learn to bring your toys to life with nothing but a digital camera and a computer with movie software (equipment and Lego* bricks are provided for in-class use).   *The Lego Company does not endorse this class in any way.   A $5 book fee is due the first day of class (it can also be paid online: click here).

Little Ones on the Drums

SUMMER ONLY CLASS!  Students start a journey into music by using music's most basic element, rhythm.  Using a Gathering Drum students will experience rhythmic stories, rhythmic responses, song guessing, and other fun drum circle activities.  Parents are asked to stay in the classroom during the class.

Video Game Design Part 2

 

 This is a continuation class for students who have taken the Computer Animation and Game Design class.  Students will learn more about video game coding and make their own video games.  A $5 book fee is due the first day of class (it can also be paid online: click here).

-- A Taste of Strings (Guitar, Ukulele, Dulcimer)

 

We will take you on a musical journey where you will learn how to play one of the world's most popular instruments, the guitar. We will then visit the Islands and learn how to hula with the Ukulele. Finally we will visit the music of the mountains and learn the simple 3 string Mountain Dulcimer. (Note: "Journey" and "hula" are used figuratively - there is no actual travel or dancing involved). A $20 Instrument rental fee will provide you with all three instruments to use during the class and for practice at home. A $5 book fee is due the first day of class.

Piano for Teens & Adults: Learning in Harmony

 

 Ages 13 and up

Students will learn the skill for playing the piano/keyboard in a group setting.  At each lesson they will learn to play a familiar song (songs include  "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"," Frere Jacques (Brother John)," "When the Saints" and others).  Students will learn to play melodies and harmonies.  Students will learn to identify several notes in musical notation and read them from the musical staff.  Practice-helper videos will also be available to encourage and guide practice at home.  Keyboard rentals are available during the duration the class session (Rental = $20 for the 8 week session (contact us before the start of classes to make rental arrangements)
